If you have kids, get each of them a library card. Almost all public libraries have a DVD / VHS section filled with movies, categorized by rating or age levels, which can be borrowed for free. They won’t have a lot of new releases but you will find plenty of classics, entire seasons of television series – definitely something for everyone. Show your kids all of your childhood favorites.
Be dilligent and return library items on time to avoid over-due fees which can be $1.00 per day for DVD and VHS. While you’re looking for movies, don’t forget to slip in a book or two for the kids and the adults. I have always found lots of great books on budget cooking, gardening and canning, frugal living, home made gifts, crafts and just about anyting else you can think of.
